Bláithín Ennis Jewellery
Bláithín Ennis is an original, unique and contemporary slow fashion brand. Founded in 2012, the Irish designer focuses on cutting-edge jewellery and couture large scale body pieces. The label is beautifully designed, incorporating innovative, traditional and craft driven techniques using whimsical shell mesh, combined with mixtures of robust metals and sparkling glass crystal. Every piece is designed and handmade from her studio in Ireland. Bláithín’s award-winning creations represent the ‘unconventional’ in jewellery and accessory design.
About the Designer
Bláithín, a graduate of Textile Design from the National College of Art & Design in Dublin, launched her eponymous brand soon after graduation. She excels in sourcing, manipulating, and combining unusual materials from around the world to create wearable, striking pieces. Her fresh use of experimental materials and offbeat aesthetic has earned her a devoted following at home and abroad.
The brand has been supported by premium retailers and designers, including Brown Thomas (Selfridges Group), which has featured her work in their prestigious ‘Create’ showcase over eight years. Bláithín has collaborated with celebrated London based designer Paul Costelloe and designed jewellery collections for his catwalk shows at London Fashion Week. Bláithín Ennis pieces have been worn by numerous international celebrities, models, actresses and have also appeared on the red carpet at the Oscars.
My Journey
After graduating from a BA in Textile Design at the National College of Art & Design in Dublin, I went about setting up my own label “Bláithín Ennis”. It all began when I was invited to participate at a Christmas design fair. It was my first experience showcasing to the public and it was here where I saw the true potential of my creations. Having had wonderful industry experience with New York based designer Diane Von Furstenberg, I launched my first collection to the Irish marketplace at the end of 2012.
I'm absolutely passionate about creating a quality, innovative brand for my customers who appreciate design, the handmade item and a point of difference. I'm based from my studio in Ireland with a loyal, dynamic team. Every piece is designed with intention and handmade in small, sustainable batches.
